Parent Update
This week, the school invited parents and carers into the classrooms for a sharing afternoon. This was an opportunity for the children to share their school books and talk about their learning experiences in class. A big thank you to everyone who attended. It was lovely to welcome you into our school and see the children so enthusiastic about showing their work to you. Mrs Banks asked a few children about this event and this is what they said…
Blake – ‘My Mummy loved my writing’
Harper - ‘ I liked showing my Mummy all my work. It was really exciting, I can’t wait to do it again!’
Bodie (and Harley) - ‘I was proud to show my Mum everything. It is nice to show them rather than just tell them. It gives them a better understanding of our learning’
Emily - ‘ My Dad thought my work was very good. It was an opportunity to show off my work, as we don’t do it very often’
Matty - ‘It was really nice for Mum to come in and see my work’
Megan - ‘I was very happy, excited and proud to show my work to my Mum’
Alisa - ‘I liked that my Mum could see exactly what we are learning about at school’
Our aim is to hold similar events each term (dates to follow). We are in contact with the church to confirm the date and time for the Easter Service (the original date clashes with the primary festival of dance). I hope to communicate this to you by the end of this week.
For Red Nose Day on Friday, children may come to school dressed in red (we have decided not to sell Red Noses at school this year. They are available to buy online or you could consider red face paint).
Finally, please look out for a poster later this week with information on the Easter Bonnet and Garden Competitions!
Have a good week! Mr Caswell
