Weekly Update
This week marks the end of another busy and productive year at Norton School. The end of the school year is always a time of mixed emotions as we celebrate successes as well as saying goodbye to those who are moving on. Our Year 6s, who are heading off to Secondary school, have been with us from the age of four. The top year group in any school really sets the tone for the year. This year we can be proud of the group of children who have led the way in learning and in achievements, setting quite the example for our Year 5 to follow.
We also say goodbye and good luck to Miss Wilcock, Mrs Corner and Mrs Oakes who are leaving us. We wish them well with new adventures and thank them for their dedication and service to pupils.
Please visit the News section of our website to look back at what pupils have been up to this year. To mention just a few; Odd Socks Day, Christingle, Dance Show, Residential Trip, Prayer Day and many Sporting fixtures. This week, a picture from Willow and Birch’s Geography seaside trip to sunny Lyme Regis.
It has been a pleasure to see so many of you in school over the last few weeks to share in end of term events with staff and pupils; Sports Day, the Year 6 Bingo, the school play ‘Mission Implausible’ and the end of term Awards Celebration. This week too, parents and carers are invited to join us for the Leavers Service today and the Poetry Slam on Wednesday.
A reminder that the last day of term is Wednesday 24th July and school will close early on this day at 2:00pm.
The school calendar for the 2024-25 academic year is on the school website. Our first day back is Thursday 5th September.
Finally, I would like to thank teachers, support staff, volunteers, the FONS, governors and parents for everything you have done to support our pupils this year.
I wish you all a restful, restorative and enjoyable summer break and look forward to returning in September!
Mr Caswell
