Weekly Update

This week:

· Kindness week

· Photo competition

· Sporting success

· News from Rev Nick

This week is our Kindness Challenge, when we will be thinking about how we can be kind to others and raise  money for Childline too.  The week is based around the book "Have you filled a bucket today?"  Our brilliant School Council and I will be launching this in Collective Worship on Monday.

There will be coloured buckets for each class (and one for each staff room).  When someone has done something kind,  they will write their name and what the kind deed was and add the slip of paper to the bucket.  At the end of the week, we will add up how many each class have, and they will be awarded the Kindest Class Award!  As it is important for us to be kind to ourselves too, it is a Slipper Pass day for everyone on Thursday with donations to NSPCC’s Childline.

There’s still time to enter the Photo Contest and great to see entries coming in now with photos creatively showing and celebrating different school values—Please keep your photo entries coming!

A huge well done to cross country runners and netballers who represented our schools last week.  It’s a privilege to see pupils representing the schools – thank you for staff and parents for facilitating this.

Finally, with sadness, news this week from Rev Nick that he is retiring as Rector of the Ham Hill Villages Benefice on the 31st December 2024.  On behalf of everyone at school, I would like to offer a huge heartfelt thank you to Nick for his dedication, service, good humour and love for everyone in our school community.  We will cherish the time we have spent with him and we are glad that we can enjoy his company this Christmas and throughout the Autumn term.   We wish him a very happy and healthy retirement.
