Weekly Update
I am delighted to inform you that this week on Friday 1st March West Chinnock becomes part of the Bath and Wells Trust family of schools.
On this day the school will become West Chinnock Church School. We have been working closely with the Trust for many months and we have already seen many benefits of this partnership. In assembly, we will be joined by a representative from the Trust who will welcome pupils and staff to the Trust and present the school with our very own Trust Teddy Bear!
Soon, you will see new signage and eventually, the logo and school name on the uniform will be adopted - we will give you plenty of notice and time for this change.
Last week, the reception pupils enjoyed a muddy day out to Carymoor Environmental Centre for a 3 pigs themed day! In Science, Acorn class have been learning all about seeds and germination, thinking scientifically to grow cress seeds. Pupils in Oak Class, have been writing their own versions of the Ancient Benin story of Eweka.
As we look forward to World Book Day, we are excited about the Bedtime Reading on Friday - thank you to the PFA and volunteer readers!
Finally, please find the link to Miss Brown’s Go Fund Me page. On the 24th March, Miss Brown, who is Art Leader and Birch Class teacher at Norton, will be running the Yeovil Half Marathon to raise money for a new set of cross country vests for the Norton and West Chinnock team. I know she has been training hard and any support will be well received.
