“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the colour of their skin, but by the content of their character.”
—Martin Luther King Jr. (1963)
Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the third Monday in January, honours the famous American civil rights leader who dedicated his life to achieving equality for people of colour. He helped to change the world and continues to inspire us to this day.
Pupils, staff and volunteers spoke positively about the trip to Nothe Fort last week - I was impressed with how well everyone got into character and went back in time to the 1940s for the day in Weymouth. Returning to the 2020s, Oak Class, in their Art lesson, have been exploring tints, shades and tones in landscapes. Meanwhile in Acorn Class, pupils have been delving through photos and log-books from the school to explore the life of the school in the past and the Reception seedlings have been thinking about how to help Humpty Dumpty!
Before the end of the school day on Wednesday, you are most welcome to join me and other parents for coffee in the church starting from 2.45pm.
Wishing you all a good week. Mr Caswell
