Weekly update
It was a week to celebrate our love of reading at West Chinnock school with Book Week which culminated in World Book Day on Thursday 2nd March. Events included the cake sale, ‘rock up and read’ and the parade of brilliant costumes of our favourite characters from books. A huge well done and thank you for rising to the challenge and continuing to raise the profile of reading in the school.
Pupils participated in netball on Tuesday. Mr Burns said that he was proud of all the pupils that attended the netball tournament and they tried really hard and behaved brilliantly. Thank you to the parents who got them there and supported.
On Wednesday, cross country runners represented the school at Bucklers Mead and they ran with grit and determination. Our Year 2 and 3 girls team still occupies the top spot in the local league of all schools in the Yeovil area.
Parents’ evening is this week on Wednesday with appointments from 1.00-6.00pm. Please do book a slot to speak with your child’s class teacher.
A polite reminder, and plea from local residents, to park responsibly when dropping off and picking up from school. Please do not park or stop on the zigzag lines outside the school or block residents driveways.
